What Should We Do In Times of Crisis?

So much can be done when we do this one thing.

As the world is more interconnected, the more we feel the impact from global events. As a result, it’s not uncommon for all of us to experience a sense of unease or nervousness.

I’ve personally been shaken emotionally over watching the previous US election as well as the Canadian one.

I grew concerned, and rightly so, when Trump won again.

I sighed in relief when Mark Carney won by a razor’s edge and was amused when Pierre Poilievre lost his own seat after two decades of nonstop complaining.

And I’m not the only one that feels that.

For a lot of us there is this collective trauma that we experience. When we hear about Trump’s attack on trans people, some of us get concerned.

When we hear about wars or genocides, we get angry over them and feel sad for those caught up in that mess. This also applies to pandemics.

All of these things and much more creates this narrative that we’re in a constant state of fear and anxiety over what happens next. It seems like we’re one bad decision away from utter catastrophe.

And this sort of environment leads to humanity acting pretty predictably.

I write (and sometimes do videos) about self-help for those who don't like self-help. Complete with the occasional memes and riffs on the industry that I love.
