Yesterday was Father’s Day in the US. Ordinarily, I should have sent this email yesterday, but I was traveling with my family from Texas to Alabama to visit my Dad for his special day, and the hotspot connection was spotty at best.

At forty-something (weigh in below if you want to know my true age or have a guess about how old I am), I was looking forward to seeing my dad on Father’s Day. We haven’t always been close. The last twenty years won’t erase the first twenty, but connections heal the heart over time.

I felt as giddy as a young girl laying her head on Daddy’s chest.

Particularly, since mom died, I’ve tried to stay close to Dad.

Relationships can be challenging, even under the best of circumstances, and when they are stressed, sometimes they never recover.

If you’re to take a reckoning account of your relationships right now, what do they look like?
