Why Misinformation is Free Speech

It’s a red flag when politicians want to limit speech they don't agree with

Freedom of speech is our most important freedom. Any threat to that is a dealbreaker for me. Period. Full Stop, as the Brits say.

Any restriction on freedom of speech must be rejected out of hand. There is no room for compromise, and no restriction is acceptable.

I would not vote for anyone who supported any restriction on the expression of ideas, and that is why the Democrats won’t be getting my vote in November.

(Note: This should not be taken as supportive of the other side in any way. This article is critical of Democrats, which does not mean I support the other side.)

Democrats want to make “misinformation” illegal, which is just another way of saying they want to silence ideas they don’t agree with. Just because you don’t agree with something, does not make it “misinformation” or wrong. There is a difference between opinion and fact.

Kamala Harris and VP candidate Tim Walz say “misinformation” should be prohibited. Both say it does not have freedom of speech protection under the First Amendment.
