Puffer Roadmap Update: Major Milestones and What’s Next

We are excited to present the latest update on Puffer’s roadmap and our strategic plans for the coming months. Puffer Finance has evolved into a comprehensive suite of products dedicated to advancing decentralized infrastructure on Ethereum, building on its beginnings as a Liquid Restaking Protocol (LRT).
In this update, we will highlight our recent milestones, including ecosystem growth and upcoming innovations such as the testnet launch of Puffer UniFi, the introduction of UniFi AVS, and the rollout of Puffer V2. We’ll also share details about our Token Generation Event, scheduled for early Q4 2024, as well as the opening of withdrawals.

Puffer — The Pioneering Based Rollup and Permissionless Infrastructure Provider on Ethereum
Puffer Finance is pioneering permissionless infrastructure on Ethereum through innovative decentralized solutions. Puffer offers a suite of synergistic products, including liquid restaking (LRT), Based Rollups, and a preconfirmation AVS. Powered by natively restaked validators and the AVS, the UniFi based rollup stack addresses liquidity fragmentation across Ethereum while providing instant settlement (1 block vs 7 day withdrawals) and 100ms transactions.
Key Milestones in Puffer’s Evolution
Our progress so far has been remarkable. With a Total Value Locked (TVL) of over 500,000 ETH, our ecosystem is growing stronger every day. We’ve integrated with numerous DeFi platforms, broadening our reach and impact within Ethereum.
Additionally, over 5,000 node operators are now actively contributing to our decentralized infrastructure, ensuring the robustness and resilience of our network. We’re also proud to offer the most advanced LRT solution on the market, featuring cutting-edge innovations like Validator Tickets and permissionless validators. Our solution enables a low 2 ETH bond, which is set to be reduced even further in our next upgrade, allowing even more validator participation for the small fish.

UniFi AVS
The launch of our UniFi AVS is targeted for the end of August. UniFi AVS will be the first of its kind, designed to not only power the UniFi-based rollup, but also to provide preconfirmations for L2 transactions. This AVS enables rapid transactions with speeds as fast as 100 milliseconds.
UniFi AVS addresses key challenges in capital efficiency and slashing, paving the way for a more unified and competitive Ethereum ecosystem. Stay tuned for more details as we prepare to unveil this new product!
Puffer UniFi Rollup Testnet
Puffer UniFi, our flagship Based Rollup solution, is designed to unify Ethereum by tackling liquidity fragmentation and centralization across the network. UniFi offers a superior alternative for users, developers, and the ecosystem as a whole by addressing fundamental issues around fragmentation.
By leveraging Ethereum validators to perform sequencing, UniFi is optimized for neutrality, value capture to L1, and increased viability of home staking — all important to align with Puffer’s goal to keep Ethereum thriving.
As we prepare for our next phase, Puffer UniFi will debut on the testnet this September. As the first atomically composable rollup, UniFi will allow users to withdraw funds back to the L1 instantly within the same block — eliminating the typical wait of up to 7 days. Remember to join our testnet and be part of the mission to drive Ethereum’s future!
Puffer V2
With our progress in full swing, Puffer Restaking V2 is set to launch in early Q4, with a primary focus on improving the user experience for validators. V2 will introduce advanced features such as Fast Path Rewards, Globally Enforced Anti-Slashers, and a dramatically reduced bond requirement for Node Operators, lowering the collateral by 50%.
This upgrade promises to enhance user experience, reduce costs, and further our mission of making decentralized validation accessible to all.
About Withdrawals
The Puffer team has been working diligently to develop an efficient and secure withdrawal system for ETH stakers, which will be available in early Q4.
This system is designed to offer a seamless experience, ensuring that users can easily manage their assets as we move into the next phase of Puffer’s evolution. We’re committed to delivering a solution that meets the highest standards of security and usability.
About TGE
Finally, we’re thrilled to announce a pivotal moment in Puffer’s evolution: the upcoming Token Generation Event (TGE) for our governance token, $PUFI, scheduled for early Q4 2024. $PUFI is the anchor that secures value and drives participation across our ecosystem. It will serve as the governance token for UniFi AVS, UniFi Rollup, and Puffer LRT, playing a central role in decision-making and protocol adjustments.
With robust utility designed to enhance every aspect of our ecosystem, $PUFI will be integral to both our community and operations, incentivizing long-term participation and ensuring lasting value within our ecosystem. We’ll be sharing more detailed information about $PUFI tokenomics and utility soon.
