Her first theatre show (The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show), a playdate, going potty! and a doctor checkup — all made for a banner week for this girl. By now, I hope you know I’m quoting my daughter for posterity. If not, please do your makeup homework:

Daughter: Daddy, come back.
Daddy: You gotta say “I love you, daddy.”
Daughter: I love you, daddy.
Mommy: Aww. Can you say “I love you, mommy?”
Daughter: No.*

*It should be noted: when asked at school why she loved us, she was quoted as saying: “Mommy loves me” while all I got was “Daddy take me potty.” And she did actually enjoy the show despite her on-the-spot critique.
