Investors have put over $750 billion in startups in the last decade. The vast majority of this funding is managed in spreadsheets and email. These spreadsheets are error prone transcriptions of legal documents, and static snapshots that quickly become out-of-date. This approach leaves founders and employees confused about who owns what.

Pulley solves these problems. Pulley is a powerful and easy-to-use cap table management platform. We help founders, employees, and investors easily track their shares and understand the company’s ownership structure as they hire and raise. Ownership across the company changes as employees join and leave and as the company raises financing. Pulley is a platform to track all these equity related changes and keep a company’s equity records up-to-date.

Pulley differs from other tools because we are building for founders. We believe founder-led companies are more successful in the long term, and the only way for founders to remain in control is through smart management of their company’s equity. We want to empower founders with the tools to understand and optimize their equity so that companies stay founder-led and employee owned.

Pulley builds for founders with a platform that is easier, faster, and more relevant for their needs. Pulley allows companies to onboard the same day instead of waiting weeks. Pulley offers 409A valuations with a five day turnaround instead of months so companies can hire more quickly. Pulley offers sophisticated modeling tools so founders can understand dilution from future fundraising rounds and plan their current fundraising more effectively.

We have been in invite only mode for the last 8 months and over 500 companies are now using Pulley. Our rapid growth has given us conviction that Pulley is solving a meaningful problem for companies. To scale our team and grow more quickly, we have raised a $10M series A led by Stripe with participation from General Catalyst, Caffeinated Capital, 8VC, Combine and Hustle Fund. We’re working with Y Combinator and angels who are founders including Elad Gil, Avichal Garg, Lawrence Ripsher, Parker Conrad, Kathleen Estreich, Jack Altman, Hunter Horsley, Matt MacInnis, Linda Xie, Hari Raghavan, Jeannette zu Fürstenberg, Vincenzo Iozzo, David King, Nir Dremer, Curtis Spencer, and Rousseau Kazi.

Today, Pulley is only seven people and five of us are former founders. With the additional funding, we are growing our team! We are hiring across the board — engineering, design, operations. We hire opportunistically. If none of our roles match your skills, send me a note at yin@pulley.com and share how you can help founders on Pulley’s platform succeed.
