PULP Newsmagazine (Colorado Springs-Pueblo, CO) — February 2017

News isn’t dying, it just needs a better model.

The old ways of reaching people under 49 are dying and with them the old ways of thinking.

We are looking for someone who is a creative and detail-oriented individual who wants to grow with us, who sees opportunity in both legacy items like print advertising while developing and selling new ideas and products for both print and digital channels. The future of content distribution is more than creating a post on a website and sharing it. We want someone who sees potential in creating new products on YouTube, Twitch, Facebook, Medium, Snapchat and other new media outlets.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and grow PULP’s established print book of business, but with an eye toward creative partnerships.
  • Develop strong relationships with current and potential advertisers.
  • Develop new advertising options clients will find successful.
  • Assist in developing and implementing new channels of content with brand partnerships in conjunction with editorial staff.
  • Write advertising copy for various multimedia channels such as print, digital, podcasts, and/or video.
  • Manage and update advertising records for accurate delivery of print and/or digital products.
  • Track, reach and report on sales goal activity.
  • Assist clients.
  • Plan for both short and long term goals reach PULP’s growth goals.
  • Assist in developing PULP in-house branding and sales materials for better client relationships.
  • The ability to develop a team, direct staff, and manage sales positions to grow advertising and brand partnerships.

Preferred Candidates will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of experience (print/digital sales, advertising, marketing or development).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to build long-lasting client relationships.
  • Excellent written and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently to manage projects and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to visit clients on-site. (Driver’s license required)

Other skills:

  • Knowledge of social media advertising such as Google AdWords, DoubleClick, Facebook advertising.
  • Digital channels awareness such as YouTube, Twitch, Snapchat or other social platforms.
  • Some working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (not required but it helps to understand that process).
