False Alarm, Hugo’s Water Not Contaminated With THC
Local law enforcement says the water supply is safe after the national media frenzy over pot water.

The news of the small Colorado town’s water supply being contaminated with THC turned into little more than a false alarm.
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office posted a statement on their Facebook Page, Saturday morning, telling residents the water advisory was canceled immediately after tests came back negative for THC.
The sheriff’s office will conduct a criminal investigation “regarding the tampering and forced entry at Hugo Well #1.”
***Attention Town of Hugo***
The Colorado Bureau of Investigation has just reached out to us and advised that samples taken from Well #1 and throughout town are NEGATIVE for THC. We are happy to report that the WATER ADVISORY is canceled immediately. Please resume any and all water activities
The criminal investigation regarding the tampering and forced entry at Hugo Well #1 will continue by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office. Any information regarding the criminal mischief investigation will be made available to the public when we are able to. Thank you for your patience and understanding everyone.
