Team Pulselive: The People Podcast | Episode 10 — Quality Assurance
How has the QA function within Pulselive developed?
For this month’s People Podcast, I spoke to Anna Howells, a Senior QA Analyst here at Pulselive. We explored what makes a successful QA team and how the profession has progressed over the last few years.
QA is…
Promoting high standards of processes that maximise the intended value of products, therefore enabling fans to have the most immersive experience in sports. We ensure that delivery of this experience is to the highest achievable standard and is constantly improving throughout. To do so, we act as the owners of quality and put ourselves in the shoes of the fans.
There are various factors that contribute to the success of our QA team, including attention to detail and seeking new, more efficient tools to advance the way we work. Collaboration and communication are key — our QA team collaborates with all disciplines of the business from the development teams right through to our creative / design teams.
Manual and Automation Testing
Manual testing plays a vital role in Quality Assurance, though there has been an increased focus on automation in recent years. In automated testing, cases are executed with the assistance of tools, scripts, and software assistance, though manual testing is still integral in high-quality software development.
