From A.I. to Blockchain: Korean robot café Lounge X begins accepting crypto payments via XPOS
Pundi X has partnered up with Lounge X, a robot-powered café located in the Gangnam N Tower in Seoul, South Korea, allowing it to accept crypto payments. This means that customers can use many popular cryptocurrencies to pay for their food and drinks.

Lounge X is now able to process crypto transactions through the XPOS, the world’s first blockchain-based point-of-sale (POS) device. With the XPOS, Lounge X will be able to accept payments made in BTC, ETH, BNB, DGX, KCS, KNC, XEM, and Pundi X’s own token, the NPXS. Lounge X’s customers will be able to experience instant, more secure, and more seamless payments powered by Pundi X technology.

Robot-powered café
One of the main features of Lounge X is its robot-powered services. A robot barista specializes in drip coffee, and customers can watch it pour and prepare cups by itself. Another robot is tasked to serve food and drinks to customers around the café.
Lounge X is part of Regular Six, a 3,300-square-meter dining space with seven restaurants. Other restaurants in the space include Wolhyang, Sanbang Pig, Joseon Sushi Restaurant, Pyeonghwaok, Yookgram A.I. Aging Room, and Alcove, many of which are also powered by innovative technologies such as artificial intelligence and data analytics.
Blockchain-powered ecosystem
With the installation of the XPOS, Lounge X joins Pundi X’s global payment ecosystem, becoming one of its partner merchants. It joins merchants present in over 25 countries, all of which can accept a variety of cryptocurrencies as payment options.
As a partner merchant, Lounge X will be able to accept payments from customers with the XWallet app, a mobile wallet making it easier for customers to store and transact with their crypto assets. Lounge X’s XPOS is also compatible with the XPASS card, a physical transaction card with NFC capabilities that enables crypto payments.
While Lounge X is already able to accept payments made through various cryptocurrencies, that list will continue to expand once more tokens join Pundi X’s global payment ecosystem through the company’s token listing service called Open Platform. This will allow Lounge X to accommodate even more cryptocurrencies in the future.
