If you’ve got a never-ending to-do list, you’re not alone. From work to school to just getting the laundry done, we’re all plugging away so we can check off all the boxes. And with all there is tackle in life, we can all use a little encouragement from time to time. Luckily, there’s a day specifically for that. Cheer on the peeps in your life by celebrating National Encouragement Day on September 12. Not sure how to pay tribute to them? We’ve got five tips for you below.

Here are five ways you can crank up the positive vibes:
- Post inspiration: We’ve all got a motto that empowers and encourages us. If the words encourage you, they are bound to encourage someone else too. Share your phrase with the world on Sept. 12. Type out the phrase on Instagram, include a fave photo and tag three people who will appreciate and benefit from your good vibes. Or better yet, write out your motto by hand and snap a pic. You know we’re suckers for handwriting.
- Treat yo’ people to food: Obviously, you can’t go wrong with an impromptu gelato bar or a festive lunch for your team to embrace this holiday’s theme: encouragement! This break from the same old, same old also gives you a chance to connect with your teammates and share positive feedback with one another. Cater2.me can help you get started. Their account managers will curate menus from the best vendors near you, manage day-of logistics and staffing, and collect your feedback to customize future orders.
- Change up your routine. Mix it up and find a new place to work with your crew. It will brighten your moods, and give you a chance to interact with a new crowd and environment. Getting out of your routine can give you and your team and friends new perspectives, which can reinvigorate your zest for life.
- Pick up fresh flowers: Show a friend or co-worker that you appreciate them with a small handful of flowers. You don’t have to go crazy with the gifting. Even a little something lets them know that you value them and the skills they bring to the table.
- Send a handwritten card: A handwritten card is here to stay. It’s not easily deleted off your phone or buried in your notifications. It’s right in the recipient’s hand encouraging them to dream big and keep up the great work. If you want to deliver that kind of encouragement, send a card by Sept. 5 to ensure it arrives by National Encouragement Day. And if you need help sending a handwritten card, we’ve got your back.
