It’s Pride! A month of love, acceptance, togetherness and joy that we can share with those we care about the most. Whether you’ve got plans to strut through a parade near you or you’re just happy to soak in all the rainbows from afar, Punkpost is excited to offer a beautiful, handwritten keepsake for you to send at your whim.

Even better, our crazy talented team of handlettering artists are always up for making your cards as extra as they can be. Add a comment to ask for a design, toss some confetti in there, or simply type out a few of your favorite emojis to let your artist know you want your message to pop.

Here are a few of our go-to emojis to use in Pride cards.

Rainbow Flag 🏳️‍🌈

Because, really, who didn’t yelp in excitement when the gallery of emojis expanded to include a rainbow flag? We certainly did. Wave that flag with pride, baby! You can even download a few extra emojis like the trans pride flag and the pansexual pride flag to create a truly signature message for your recipient to enjoy.

Rainbow Hearts ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🖤

Red heart, orange heart, yellow heart, green heart, blue heart, purple heart! And to be true to Philadelphia’s POC-inclusive version that added the brown and black stripes in 2017 (fun fact), pop a black heart in there as well!

Painting With a Twist 💍🎨

A favorite we’ve seen pop up a few times before is the engagement ring or set of wedding rings next to an artist’s palette! As artists ourselves, we think this is a super crafty way of offering a very special congratulations to a queer couple celebrating an anniversary, wedding, or engagement. You can even add a little set of stars to make that ring or rings sparkle!

Fist Bump 👊🏻👊🏼👊🏽👊🏾👊🏿

Especially as we all work to make Pride a safe and inclusive space for all, the fist bump emoji repeated in various skin tones is a great way to show solidarity with the LGBTQIA+ community of color. We are able to celebrate Pride today thanks to Marsha P. Johnson, a black trans woman, and it’s important to honor her and those who stood with her 50 years ago.

Classic Rainbow 🌈

You know what they say, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. And we think that applies to the emoji that’s been there for us through the years, way before the more recently inclusive set of emojis were released. And that my friends, is the simple, but effective, rainbow.

Unicorn 🦄

It’s gender fluid. It’s brave. It’s glitzy. Unicorns are the unofficial mascots of Pride celebrations around the world. Unicorns are symbols of hope that things will get better. They represent a belief in magic and the idea that the extraordinary can happen.

Kisses and Families 👩‍❤️‍💋‍👩

The emoji lexicon has gotten so much better in recent years about adding kissing couples, couples holding hands, and families with coupled parents that display there are happy families of all kinds. Add in an emoji of two ladies for your loving lesbian aunties or sign off with a little emoji portrait of your two-dad family.

Looking for something a little more specific? Let us know! Our handwriting artists are always excited to see what creative ideas you have for your cards, so always remember that you can add a note asking for any particular drawing and we will do our best to hand your request to an artist who is up for the challenge. Your recipient has a beagle who will join them out for Pride this year? We can doodle a dog with a rainbow hat if you’d like!
