We get so many questions about how our handwriting artists and the people who make up that community. So, we thought we’d answer some of the most asked questions when it comes to our awesome community of creatives.

Where Do Writers Work?

The first thing you may wonder is “Is Punkpost HQ full of artists writing cards on the daily?” The answer to which, is “Nope!”

We have a growing team of more than 100 artists spread out across the United States. From the West Coast to the East Coast and everywhere in between, we’ve got artists writing your cards from the comfort of their own homes, offices and favorite coffee shops.

Having artists stationed throughout the country means we can get your posts delivered faster by assigning orders based on location (when possible) but it also means a lot of us have not met in real life. However, this does not pose a problem in having a strong community, especially with the all the different communication tools at our fingertips.

How Does Such a Dispersed Team Communicate?

When a new artist is joining the Punkpost community, we have regular email correspondence as well as phone calls to make sure they understand what is expected, are settling in and get their questions answered. From there, we introduce them to the community via social media, weekly newsletters and our own exclusive Punkpost Handwriting Artist platform.

After that, artists are able to communicate with other writers on the team and learn from one another. And! Many writers will even send each other snail mail for their birthdays, big accomplishments or just to say hello. (Yes, receiving surprise mail is just as fun for us as it is you!)

What The Best Part of Being a Punkpost Handwriting Artist?

Growing one’s craft and skill through our community is one of the most exciting things to see happening at Punkpost. Daily writing and learning from one another truly pays off artistically. When artists reach their one-year Punkpost anniversary, many look back at their first Punkpost ever card written and cannot believe how far they’ve come.

Besides becoming a better artist, our community is full of support and encouragement. Whether it is sharing favorite writing tools, sales happening at art stores, new techniques or support for victories and struggles going on in our personal lives, the community carries an uplifting atmosphere of kindness, caring, encouragement and positivity unlike any other in the social media era.

Do You All Get Together In Real Life?

We do! Punkpost HQ is located in San Francisco, so Bay Area meetups have been happening since Punkpost began. As we continue to expand, we hope to help facilitate meetups in other cities — as nothing is more exciting than to meet friends for the first time in real life.

If you’re interested in learning more about our community, follow @punkpostco on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter to see some of the faces behind your cards!

Our artist community is truly the most special and important part of making Punkpost what it is, and we are so appreciative of the strong community we have, filled with mad-talented artists.
