How to Become a Punkpost Handwriting Artist

The team of Punkpost handwriting artists is always growing, and one of the most common questions we get is: “How can I become a Punkpost handwriting artist?” And really, who wouldn’t want to learn how to join our awesome handwriting artists in creating and sending out snail mail love?
You can start the application process here. After completing the initial step, expect to receive an email from us with further instructions within one business day. If you meet the initial criterion, we’ll ask you to send us handwritten handwriting samples from a prompt we provide.
This is one of the most important steps of the application process. Your writing samples will play a huge factor in whether or not we bring you on as a writer in the future. So, take your time and do some research beforehand to make sure you understand the kind of awesome handwriting that our customers have grown to know and love from Punkpost.
How Can I Prepare for Submitting My Handwriting Samples?
Here is a simple step-by-step guide on a successful application process:
First: Make sure you have sent a Punkpost card. (Tip: Your first card is free via our iOS app.) It’s important that you’ve sent a card with us so you see the process firsthand and understand Punkpost.
Next, follow us on Instagram (@PunkpostCo). This is a fast and easy way to see the kind of creations that customers expect from Punkpost.
Third, research and figure out what our handwriting styles are. You can learn more about our handwriting styles here: https://punkpost.com/stories/handwriting-styles
Lastly, practice, practice, practice. People often ask us: How do I get to that caliber of handwriting? The truth is, there is no trick. It’s just many hours of writing.
When Will I Hear Back?
Once we receive your handwriting samples, you will be added to our application list. We get a lot of applications and bring on writers before peak card-sending seasons.
The general wait time is a few months, so don’t fret if don’t hear back from us immediately. Also, no need to check back in. We will be make contact if you’re a good fit and when we have an opening.
