Meet Steph Galvin. She’s a Handwriting Artist who joined the team in June 2017.
She’s a wife and stay-at home mom of two kiddos. She’s got a love of sunshine, black coffee, reality TV and lettering. You know what’s awesome about that combo, she can soak in all her favorites at once while writing cards for you!
Let’s take a look at some of the happy mail she’s sent during her first year as a handwriting artist.
Summer camp fun: As a mom herself, Steph loves writing cards from moms to their kids. Our Summer Camp Collection brings in lots of these adorable messages for Steph to write.
Professional fun: A few happy colors and a flying envelope make a business thank you so much more fun, and so much more memorable.
Cheers: When you can’t be there in person to have a drink on the patio, Steph’s doodle drink is the next best thing. She says that drawing isn’t her strong suite, but she’s learned to embrace it and even enjoy it!
From one coffee drinker to another: Steph loves a good cute of black coffee, so when user’s mention coffee dates in their cards, she can’t help but draw them a hot cup of coffee.
Fave card: One of Steph’s favorite parts about being a handwriting artist is that she’s continually practicing and trying new lettering techniques. She especially likes this card because it challenged her to use a new color combo — pink, red and orange— and work on her bubble letters.

- Location: Sandstone, Minnesota
- When she’s not writing cards: You’ll find her chasing around her kids or watching Judge Judy or Friends reruns. She also loves to cook and bake.
- Writing background: She’s always loved handwriting, but really started practicing in March 2016 after her daughter was born. “She never slept and I needed something during those long nights, so I lettered.”
- Go-to doodles: Polka dots, sunbursts and cute envelopes.
- Favorite writing utensil: Crayola markers and Paper Mate pens.
- Favorite colors to use in cards: Pink!
- Favorite stamps: Mister Rogers and Rifle Paper Co. Love Flourishes.
- Favorite cards to write: “Thank you cards because they are so sweet and heartfelt, and camp cards because I love the messages moms send their kids.”
- Workspace: At the dining room table.
- Favorite background noise: Podcasts. Right now he favorites are Armchair Expert and Reality Life with Kate Casey.
- Favorite time to write: At night while her kids are sleeping.
- Writing process: She reads the messages, notes the style, picks some colors and goes for it! “I don’t sketch much; I just jump in.”
- Cards written (so far): 800+
- Skill building: Practice is key, and writing cards for Punkpost has been a big part of that.
- Inspiration: She loves to follow other Punkpost artists and goes to Pinterest for more resources and ideas.
