Mom will love anything you say in your Mother’s Day card. But if you’re stuck or looking for inspiration, you’ve come to the right place. Here’s five solid ideas to get you started and then 15 of our fave momma cards packed with card-sending advice. Once you look through them, head over to our app and order your card to ensure it arrives by May 13.

5 Different Ways to Say Happy Mother’s Day

  1. List out the numerous things she has helped you accomplish in the past year alone.
  2. Talk about how pumped you are to celebrate her big day with her.
  3. Reminisce over a favorite moment, such as the last sunny vacation you were on together.
  4. Tell a joke. Everyone loves a funny (or punny) card. If you’re not a jokester, a quick google should pull up lots of ideas.
  5. Gush about how great she is. If she’s anything like our moms, she juggles so much and does it flawlessly. Let her know you see her efforts and love her all the more for it.

Now comes the eye candy.

  1. Keep it simple. Quick! What’s the first thing that comes to mind? Write that. It means it comes from the heart. “I love you, Mom,” is something she never gets tired of hearing/reading. If you really want the card to be a showstopper, pick our “sweet” style and let us know her favorite color.

2. Impress her. If neither of you are big on words, stick to the holiday. Then, pick our “elegant style” and let us pen you a frame-worthy card completely with a few sprigs of flowers.

3. Present a picture. Remind mommy how much you love her and attach a recent photo of the two of you, or a really, really cute one of yourself. Or six! (That’s the max number of photos you can include in your Punkpost card.)

4. Thank her. Thanking dear old mom is always a good idea. Let her know that it’s all because of her that you turned out to be so darn awesome.

5. Celebrate this lady. Who is always there when you call? Mom. You call her when you’re happy. You call her when you’re sad. You’ve talked through all of life’s choices big and small with her, and she still loves you. That deserves a heap of thanks.

6. Encourage her to do her thing. It turns out that our parents have a life outside of us. We’re shocked, too! Take interest in them and help them do their own thing. Just think of every time mom encouraged you, and channel that back into a card for her this Mother’s Day.

7. List mom’s accomplishments. She’s done so, so much over the years. Heck, she raised you. Remind her of all that she’s accomplished and sprinkle in a little love.

8. Bridge the distance. We don’t all get to see our mommas on the daily, and snail mail helps bridge that gap. Regardless of how often you see her, she’s got amazing traits. Now is the perfect time to brag about how amazing, silly and smart your mother is.

9. Say it in any language. We write in any and all languages, and always have Google Translate nearby to help us pick doodles to match your message. But, if you want to help us out, leave us a doodle request at the end of your card-ordering process.

10. Have fun! You and your mom have plenty of inside jokes. Leave us a request to draw your mom’s fave food or animal. That’s how these ice-cream carrying cows came to be. This one is sure to mooooove mom to tears (via laughter).

11. Focus on her surroundings. If you don’t live at home anymore, think about what your mom does to fill all her new-found time. Does she dote over her pet? Does the living room now look like a jungle? Pay tribute to her hobbies with a lovely letter.

12. Don’t push out dad. It’s mom’s big day, but dad’s pretty cool too. Luckily, his day is coming up soon too! Father’s Day is June 17 this year.

13. Keep her close. But not too close. Moms who are there for you all the time are kind of the best. The only thing better is a mom who also knows when to give you your space.

14. Don’t forget grandma. Extend the mom love up a generation by sending your grand-MOTHER a card this Mother’s Day. After all, she is the bee’s knees and the cat’s meow.

15. Spread the love. Ladies hold a lot of hats, from mother to grandmother to organizer and boss. And we all think ours is the most super.

Inspired? We hope so! Feel free to riff on these Mother’s Day card ideas or blaze your own trail when it comes to your message. Hop over to the Punkpost app now to find the perfect card and order mom a card before you forget. Because that would be the worst.
