There is a sanitized, country club version of innovation. It highlights the ribbon cutting ceremony when the hero entrepreneur evades death and makes a zillion dollars. It contains easy-to-use recipes where you too can become a unicorn.

It’s not healthy. It’s mostly bullshit. And it deifies people who are deeply flawed and sometimes destructive.

I created this blog as a countermeasure. Because I think we all need more authenticity in our lives. Here, we celebrate people who do epic shit but aren’t afraid to be vulnerable; who don’t airbrush their flaws; and have the ovarian and testicular fortitude to share their hardships and self doubt.

This blog shares the punk truth of these wonderful humans. Punks & Pinstripes is a global coalition of intrapreneurs, entrepreneurs, and punks who struggle, support one another, persevere, and sometimes build breakthroughs.

Here, we share our stories of reaching our limits and pushing past them, of speaking truth to power, making our own happiness, and carving our own path. This is the raw, unfiltered, beautiful, messy truth of our lives.

I hope our stories assure you that you’re not alone. I hope we embolden you to be the most authentic version of yourself. I hope we empower you to speak truth to power and to call bullshit. And I hope we motivate you to move mountains — even when it scares the shit out of you and it’s really hard.

And, yes, for some readers, I hope we piss you off.

For everyone else, welcome to Punks & Pinstripes.
