2 shocking signs investors REALLY don’t trust America anymore
You can imagine how I, a Canadian, might have some trust issues with the United States right now.
I mean, U.S. President Donald Trump’s tariff war against my country is one thing.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: trade disputes are trade disputes and we should be able to work things out over time in a rational, adult way.
What I, nor my countrymen and women, cannot abide are the threats to our sovereignty in the form of the 51st state rhetoric coming from the White House.
After Trump shut his mouth about the whole deal after Canadian conservatives begged him to stop talking about it and tanking their electoral chances here, his press secretary reiterated last week that his thinking on the matter hasn’t changed.
To which Canadians typically respond, “f**k off, eh!”
And I say that as someone who loves the United States and who has, over the years, made Las Vegas my home away from home.
You can also imagine how I, a very engaged stock market investor, might have some trust issues with the United States right now.
Trump’s disastrous trade war policies and unhinged social media ramblings are causing market convulsions the likes of which we haven’t seen since the COVID-19 pandemic (the S&P 500 is down almost 12% in the last 3 months … and counting).
