A few words of introduction are in order, I feel. This is the idea and some initial sections for a near-future sci-fi novel/novella I’ve been mulling over and jotting snippets down for six months or so now, and have just started writing out in draft form.

That’s all I have for you here. Hopefully it makes sense, and gives an idea of where it’s headed. I’d be delighted if any kind and patient readers would let me know what they think. If it arouses their interest and seems like the kind of thing they would be interested in reading more of.

So here goes…

After the Reset

The blurb

Some ten years into the future, humanity has allowed its memory to atrophy. Personal recollections are uploaded to cloud storage to be retrieved and projected onto ubiquitous Sorcel spec lenses.

Finn arrives in Alicante to visit his aunt Jacinta, who is losing her memory to dementia. Unaware that he is about to lose his own memories to… what?

Some kind of entity is coalescing within the cloud, probing towards consciousness, eager for its own sense of vicarious individuality.
