The Idiot Who Slipped Pork On My Fork
The end of a Relationship
Hong Kong was a frenetic place. It was much busier than Jeff Sachman had ever imagined. He was there for a meeting with one of the top Game Designers in the world.
Richie Chang was young and brilliant. He came across as an intense and very serious guy, but his work suggested that his true persona was much different. In a short period of time he had created some of the most popular and memorable games in the world. His most famous was Battle for Europe, followed by Battle for Asia and his most popular was Battle for North America, Canada versus The United States.
Richie had incorporated AI into his games and as a result the actions seemed very realistic. Allies turned on Allies, Enemies turned on Enemies, and the end result was the world was a mess. Some wondered how far from reality Richie’s games were.
Jeff was in Hong Kong to talk to Richie and his partner Stanley Woo about a concept his company had for an interactive sports game. There was no question that Richie could bring the project to life. It would however be an expensive proposition.
It was Jeff’s first time in Hong Kong. He arrived from Toronto a couple of days early to acclimatize himself and to try and beat jet lag.
