The Root Cause — The Parents

Alan Spring loved his family with every ounce of strength in his body. He would do anything for them. His wife Tamara was his best friend and he could never spend enough time with his sons Philip and Max or his daughter Jenny.

At his Construction business, ‘’Spring Homes’’ Alan spent most of his time problem solving. It was things that ranged from a Framer not showing up, to Street lights in a new subdivision that weren’t spaced out properly. There was on occasion situations where he had to let people go, like the backhoe driver who showed up to work drunk, The problems were all manageable and rarely did anything take place that he couldn't handle.

It was a Thursday evening when Alan came home from work to find his wife looking extremely upset. She hadn’t called or said anything during the day, so Alan had no clue what was going on. Tamara was blonde, five foot four and always had a smile on her face. He knew immediately something was way off. When she started to talk, tears streamed down her face. ‘’Max was walking home from school when Peter Muller and a couple of his friends decided to give him a hard time. They wouldn’t leave him alone and started calling him a Dirty Jew. When he stopped and told Peter to screw off, Muller hit him in the face. It wasn’t much of a fight and Max is kind of…
