Me and my Dad both have a sweet tooth. We like to eat dessert and treats. But we’re learning all about how bad sugar is for you, so we want to make a change in our diet.

Woah! Sugar is actually bad for your brain, your pancreas, your kidneys, your heart, your teeth and your liver :(

We’re searching for the best low- or no-sugar foods to eat, and we’re going to keep updating this post with all the information we find.

QUESTION: Is the sugar in fruit bad for you?

We like eating fruit, but we know it has sugar in it. So we want to understand if eating fruit is bad for you because of the sugar in it.

The sugar in fruit is the same as the sugar in candy, chemically speaking. But our bodies process them differently.

“The fiber in the fruit minimizes the sugars’ impact on blood sugar levels” says Nancy Z. Farrell, R.D.N., an adjunct professor of nutrition at Germanna Community College in Fredericksburg, Va. (https://www.consumerreports.org/diet-nutrition/sugar-in-fruit/)

So really, the sugar in fruit is NOT bad for you. Good news!

QUESTION: Which fruits have the most and the least sugar in them?

We found this image, which shows some fruits and how much sugar they have in them
