An expert session is a short but insightful webinar format where We invite two experts each week to spend 20 minutes discussing a topic related to Purposeful Retail and answer questions from our community on the topic.

To kick off the Purposeful Retail webinar series, experts Niall Dunne and Dianna Cohen joined us to discuss a circular economy, plastics in retail and how the retail industry can move forward.

Speakers:

  • TED speaker Dianna Cohen is the founder of the Plastic Pollution Coalition — a global coalition made up of 750+ businesses around the world looking to stop plastic pollution.
  • Niall Dunne is the CEO of Polymateria, a company that has developed a new standard in biodegradability, putting in place a new technology called Biotransformation which ensures that plastic can fully biodegrade.

It’s the “wild wild west out there” in terms of the innovation, disruption and change that the retail industry is undergoing due to the issue of plastics and waste. Niall and Dianna both agree that many are discovering new ways forward in the way of simplicity, circularity and standardization.
