When your company’s values are truly “fit for purpose”, they drive performance. That’s why it’s vital to measure and track your values and culture.

Our co-founder Graham Massey is accredited to conduct Cultural Values Assessments (CVAs), developed by the Barrett Values Centre and used by over 6,000 organisations worldwide. CVAs are a powerful and incisive way of getting right to the heart of a company’s culture.

By asking employees a few simple questions, the CVA provides a complete overview of an organisation’s cultural strengths and weaknesses, illuminating the gaps between where you are and where you need to be and allowing you to plot a clear course of action.

How it works

The CVA online survey asks employees three simple questions that take about 15 minutes to complete.

This shows which values they prize personally, which values they are currently experiencing within the organisation and which values they believe would drive high performance.

The most commonly reported values are then mapped to give a clear, multi-dimensional picture of the organisation’s cultural health through a series of diagnostic diagrams, rich demographic analysis and a written report containing custom analysis that provides insights, challenges your thinking and shines a light on the way forward.

Crucially, your CVA will also identify what is creating “cultural entropy” — in other words, the degree of dysfunction, friction and frustration that is generated by cultural failure.

Best of all, the CVA process is highly customisable to your organisation’s specific features, needs and challenges.

Outputs

At the end of the process, you’ll have:

  • Diagnostic diagrams giving a clear picture of your organisation’s cultural health
  • A written report containing custom, demographic-by-demographic analysis
  • Your Cultural Entropy® Score
  • Identified “Values Jumps” — i.e. gap analysis between current and desired values
  • A business needs scorecard
