Christians are called by many names: children of God, servants of God, slaves of Christ, believers in Jesus, and of course, Christians. As a Christian, our name is said to be written in the Book of Life and we are even promised a new name in heaven, known only to us and God (Rev. 2:17).

Names are important. They have significance. Jesus understood that when he called Peter by a new name. God understood that when He told Moses to call Him “I am.”

A new name for us

This blog, Pursuing Christ has decided to change it’s name, too. We are still pursuing Christ, of course, but rebranding to Into The Image.

Into the image was born out of a need, the impulse, the obedience to God’s command to proclaim the gospel. We are but a small team of 4 (so far) students that aim to fulfill Matthew 28:19–20,

“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

That’s why our mission statement is that we are “seeking to behold and proclaim the glory of Christ that men and women might be transformed into His image.”

“seeking to behold and proclaim the glory of Christ that men and women might be transformed into His image.”

Into the Image

One degree of glory to another

The gospel of Jesus Christ, that He was crucified for sin, buried and risen that He might reign and break the power of sin, has many implications to the daily lives of believers. In sum, these implications are all directed toward growing in Christ-likeness day by day, by the grace of God.

In 2 Corinthians 3:18 we see the method that God designed that we might be conformed into the image Christ: beholding the glory of the Lord.

“And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another.”

Our hope and prayer is that this site will reflect on, explore, remember and display His glory, thereby transforming you from one degree of glory to another.

High View of Scripture

We have a high view Scripture. The Bible is the sword of the Spirit, living and active, pure, sure, clean, true, perfect, sweeter also than honey. You’ll find this site full of expositions of verses from Scripture as well as sharable pictures of quotes from the Bible and notable Christian authors.

We believe the best way to behold the glory of Christ is to dive in and read truth of the Scripture, which “are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.” (John 20:31).

You’ll find many helpful resources here including articles, shareable quotes from notable Christian authors, and a podcast.

Joy in the lord

The only way to find true and everlasting joy is through Christ. His commands are meant for our good. He desires our holiness, as it is written,

“Be holy, because I am holy” (1 Peter 1:16).

He makes plans with His love for us in mind. Our prayer is that God might restore to us the joy of our salvation through Christ by examining the truths found in the Scriptures! Let us rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice.” (Phil. 4:4).

By the way, we’re new at this. Send some feedback our way at info@intotheimage.com — we greatly appreciate it!
