Hello!

With the launch of Pursuit’s OBS Plugin today, Overwatch players on the PlayStation 4 Pro can finally use Pursuit. This feature is still experimental, so you may run into bugs. Please let us know in our Discord here!

You will need a PC (Windows or OSX) for this to work. Don’t worry, your PC doesn’t need to be a gaming rig and you don’t even need a capture card. If you are already using OBS for console recording, please skip to Step 4. If you prefer to watch a video instead of reading, click here.

Step 1: Installing the required software

First, you’ll need to download OBS, the Pursuit client from here+ the OBS plugin from here. Install OBS Studio and the Pursuit client. Once OBS is installed, open the zip file which contains the Pursuit OBS plugin and copy-paste it into your OBS folder, typically located in your Program Files.

Copy + paste the Pursuit OBS plugins folder into here

If you are on PlayStation, you’ll need to download the Official PS4 Remote Play app. If you are on Xbox, make sure you have the Xbox app, if you uninstalled it in the past, download and install it again here.

Step 2: Configuring casting settings to work with Pursuit

Install the Playstation Remote Play app. When you open the Remote Play app, open the settings. Make sure that the resolution is set to 1080p (non PS4 Pro machines don’t support this which is why we only support PS4 Pro). We recommend a high frame rate, but standard is fine. Also, make sure you are signed into the same account under PlayStation Network as your console.

Step 3: Configure OBS

Turn on your PS4. Then click on Start to cast your PS4 onto your PC. Once you can see your PlayStation screen on your PC, open OBS. If you are on a laptop, make sure you are running OBS with your dedicated graphics card (instructions here). Now, add a Window Capture under sources. Within the Window Capture, select PS4 Remote Play and click ok.

Select the PS4 Remote play under Window Capture

Adjust the screen positioning as needed so that the PS4 screen takes up the entire capture preview on OBS. Just remember that once you are using Remote Play, your controller will need to be plugged into your PC and the audio will also come through your PC as well.

Final step: Enabling Pursuit

Then, right click on the Window Capture and click Filters. Add the Pursuit Frame Capture filter by using the (+) button on the bottom left.

The filters menu. The top bar changes based on the capture method.

Now, login to the Pursuit client with your account. Go into Settings in the top-right drop-down, and turn on OBS mode.

Make sure to restart your client after you change the settings.

That’s it! Now, you can use Pursuit while playing on your console. Remember, you don’t have to click on Start Streaming or Start Recording in OBS for Pursuit to function. As long as Overwatch is running in Full Screen in your capture preview, Pursuit will work.

If you haven’t, join our Discord here!
