There’s a lot of amazing video content out there, but it’s often lost in the void of the Internet. It can be tiresome and frustrating to search for content, especially when recommendation algorithms push bad content on you. How often has a terrible video popped up just because it’s marginally related to a tag of a video you watched a month ago?

It gets old, right? We thought so too.

Pushwave aims to solve this problem by helping people connect with quality videos and content creators. To do this, we address the the problem of finding quality content and the difficulty creators have finding audiences.

Finding Quality Videos

Unfortunately, bad content constantly bombards our social feeds. Between monetized clickbait and terrible keyword jumbles getting pushed in front of us every moment of the day, it can feel like we don’t have control over the content we consume. And that’s a scary thought.

The Pushwave platform combats this issue by allowing users to collect content from multiple sources — YouTube, Vimeo, Twitch, DailyMotion — and create channels based on specific interests, styles, or themes.

Music fans can promote lesser known artists by pairing them with popular ones in a genre. News junkies can find reputable sources and create channels of relatively unbiased content. Fitness enthusiasts can find videos that show at-home workouts that are actually doable and won’t land you in the hospital.

You wouldn’t recommend a bad video to your friends and you’re not a computer with ulterior motives (you’re not, right?), so that means you and the rest of the Pushave users are creating and finding quality content.

Are you ever complimented on your music taste? Your fashion style? Your knowledge of obscure arcade games from the 80's? If so — we’re looking for you.

We’re even cutting down on the follow-for-follow and buying followers trends that have plagued other sites. These actions can throw content balances off and affect distribution. On Pushwave, people can follow your Waves but not your personal profile.

Pushwave celebrates what makes people unique. Show others who you are and what you like while bringing awareness to lesser known videographers, musicians, and creators.

The Distribution Problem

The problem with digital distribution is in the sheer volume of the internet. The current digital ecosystem of content publishing, sharing, and streaming is massive. This leaves creators struggling to get in front of audiences and prevents audiences from connecting with new quality content.

Published content has no distribution infrastructure and there is a true need for it — average users want it, professional creators need it, and companies fight to find it.

We are offering a solution.

By pairing content together, audiences are exposed to new and possibly small or unknown artists, musicians, filmmakers, and vloggers. Most videos you’ve watched were probably shared by someone or some group on a platform you visited. Imagine creating a platform that thrived off of this idea — collecting different types of content from separate sources and putting them together in a comprehensive video channel.

Cartoonists can work together to create networks of independent cartoons. Musicians can create collaborative channels to rep and support each other. Filmmakers can create channels of their own short films and other celebrated ones.

YOU can be a curator and help build Waves of informative and high quality content. This is for creators, curators, audience members, subject matter experts, and you. Anyone can create a Wave, anybody can collaborate and curate on Waves, anyone can share their Waves with the world.

Who We Are and What We Want

We want you to find the very best internet videos. We also want to give you the opportunity to create your own Waves, branded Inlays, and collaborative party channels. We want creators, musicians, filmmakers, YouTubers and Twitch Streamers and everyone in between to connect with audiences, find new fan groups, and genuinely support each other.

We’re a small startup team based out of Minneapolis, MN with three members: a designer, a writer, and a developer. Each of us is passionate about technology and media, and the spread of quality and informative content. Our goal is to solve the problems created by clickbait promotion and poor distribution options for digital creators.

Build the soundtrack to your party with Pushwave. Create expert channels filled with your favorite videos. Explore new music and television. Pick up a new skill (learn to change your own oil, it’ll be life affirming). Find a better way to discover, share, and distribute content with us.

In short, we are passionate about quality content and helping creators find their audiences, and the other way around.
