We are connected.
Even the climate reflects this.
Wildfires can fly their smoke in any direction.

With oil in the soil, the crops will spoil.
Rotten.

Where the wind blows is where the attention will go.
Way over forty acres is what the fire has stolen.
Stubborn as a mule.
Our connection carries no closure.

It is a rage that cannot be caged.

Just because you were told that we are separate does not mean that we are separated.
The lines that connect us could never be perforated.
The smoke is in the air and the fire is over there.

All that burns could…
NOT be burned.
These flames pay homage to how much we hold ourselves hostage.

It is a rage that cannot be caged.

The clouds were orange,
the sky was dark and our hearts were gray.
There was a wildfire in your country
and in my country I smelled and felt the flames.

Our connection needs our attention.
Our attention needs our focus.
Our focus needs our faith.
Our faith needs our trust.
Our trust needs us.

We are connected.
The fire reminds us to respect it.
Us breathing with ease does not always have to be.

Take your breaths with purpose.
