Put It To Rest

Grief

A poem

There was a life lived
in a language of youthful innocence, we spoke
but then we both awoke
after weathering more of life.

This morsel of time is only a memory
that passed in time
and yet who you and I were
also unlocks an “I” that is no more
only you knew that version of me.
