A pile of fallen gray and tan rubble.
Crawling out into the light was surprisingly easy. (Image by awsloley from Pixabay)

the walls came down
yet no horns were sounded
the walls came down
he’s finally feeling grounded

out of the broken stone
several figures crawling
see they aren’t alone
they hear the goddess calling

who made those horrid walls
from him to please another
through life, he trips and falls
somehow success he’d smother

It’s different now…
yes, there will be tears
as there have been before
it doesn’t take that many years
to rearrange the lore

it’s time to stop complaining
and mourning the past
what is now pertaining
is optimistically forecast

…and the walls stayed down…
