And I cried today

When I remembered
That little girl
Who was so scared to relax
Always on edge
No wonder she found
Solace in the bottle
He tormented her
Every summer day
He banged her door down
And found something
To make her wrong
Always on edge
Always afraid
Walking on tiptoes
Afraid to wake the beast
But the beast has died
And his body turned to ash
Was he really as big and scary
As he seemed?
