When you make it
to the top
when you don’t drop
what you finally didn’t
pick up
only to drop…

Do you eventually
learn how to not
pick it up
only to drop it?

If you have led a life
of picking up
and
dropping
or starting
and then stopping
(like always thinking and
then talking…)

When life becomes
too hard to hold
like a piping-hot rock
that you pick up
and drop —

— the beauty is that
when it’s too hot
and you’re forced to drop
only then can you see
what it is
you’re meant to hold.
