Don’t Look at Me

Don’t look at me
In terms of
Limited possibilities
You don’t
Need a limited
Expectation
Of who
I should
Be.
Don’t look at me
With eyes of pity
As if you need
To feel sorry
For me.
You see
Brokenness
Becoming blind
To the beauty
You cannot see.
You tell me
With the things
You say
And do
Not say.
Words and silence
Both speak
And looks of
Withering pity
