SaaS Innovation in Pursuit of Lower-cost Renewable Power

As many in government are distracted with re-litigating old debates on
climate change and whether federal policies should support the clean
energy transition, the renewable energy industry goes about its business.
According to Bloomberg New Energy Finance, between 2008 and the
beginning of 2016, average PPA prices in the US for utility-scale solar and
wind dropped 83% and 71%, respectively, as cumulative domestic
installations rose from just under 25 GW to more than 120 GW. A major
driver of those cost reductions — and a result of the shift from a cottage
industry to a large one — is that market participants big and small are
busy uncovering every possible efficiency in renewable power plant
design, construction, operation and maintenance.
