PSU October Update
We made it! The first month of school is over and PSU is back in the swing of things. PSU has been recruiting and mobilizing, and now it’s time to start getting things done.
Here’s how PSU is building student power this month:
🎉 Celebrating a successful Back to School Bash
🎒 School chapter meetings begin
👋 Say hello to our new youth staff members!
🎉 YOU made our Back to School Bash a big success!
THANK YOU. ❤️❤️❤️ With your help, this year’s Back to School Bash out-raised our goal; PSU is now on track to have our biggest year yet. Also, congratulations once more to Dulari Tahbildar, our 2016 A+ Youth Ally award recipient!
🎒 Meetings at Schools Begin!
October means PSU is starting up our in-school meetings again! Students at 6 six schools this year—Hope, Mount Pleasant, Classical, Central, E-Cubed, and PCTA—will come together each week to discuss school issues, develop their leadership and organizing skills, and support our new citywide campaign. (News coming soon! 😉)

👋 Welcome our new youth staff members!
PSU is committed to being an authentically youth-led organization. That’s why this month we’ve hired 3 amazing young people to join our staff team. Natsu, our media coordinator, will produce great content for our Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Jayleen, our fundraising coordinator, will find new ways to bring the community into PSU’s work. And Joy, our training coordinator, will schedule, develop, and facilitate workshops and trainings at schools across the city.
YOU can chip in $3 to support Natsu, Jayleen, and Joy. We know it will mean a lot to them!
That’s all for October. Keep in touch on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram!
Love,
Your friends at PSU
