Announcing PyBay2018’s Diversity & Inclusion Scholarships and Financial Aid

The PyBay2018 organizing team is grateful for the excitement surrounding our get-together for Python developers in San Francisco this August!

Since releasing our talk list, we’ve received inquiries from as far as India and seen many registrations from folks residing in other parts of USA. We’ve also continued to receive requests from students and developers in under-represented groups asking for scholarships or financial aid to attend.

So now our focus is to raise $20,000 through our Diversity and Inclusion Program so that we can help more underserved folks benefit from the learning and networking opportunities at PyBay2018. In this way, we hope to do our part in developing future thought leaders with diverse perspectives.

Jumpstarting our drive is Hackbright Academy — an engineering school teaching Python to women right here in San Francisco, CA. We’re grateful they’ve responded so quickly to our appeal and have offered $2,000 to help our scholarship and financial aid applicants!
