Hello my fellow Pythonistas, come join us in less than a week at PyBay2019! Make sure that you check out the speakers and make your selections for the talks you would like to attend. Come build and learn us!

Here is Moshe Zadka. Come and hear about his experiences building big systems with Python!

What are you going to be speaking about at PyBay2019, and why are you excited to give this talk?

“Boring Object Orientation” adapts concepts from classic Object-Oriented Design to Python, and most importantly is based on the lessons we learned building big systems in Python.

How did you get into programming and Python?

I needed a better tool for statistics than SPSS.

What’s one of the features about Python you like the best?

Powerful built-in data structures.

What’s your favorite Python library (core or third-party), and why?

attrs is a great “ergonomics” library, guiding you to better objects.

What’s the coolest or most memorable thing that’s ever happened to you interacting with other Python devs?

Before a talk, I was talking to Greg Stein about some changes to the import flow. We were standing up, waiting to get in to the talk. By the end, my neck hurt — Greg is over a foot taller than me!

What can you be found doing when you’re not writing code?

Walking around Belmont fire-hydrants staring at my phone.

What’s the best advice you’ve received as a Python developer?

Use virtual environments. Always.
