To directors, managers, team leads, and those that see yourself in that path:

Face it, WFH is nice but it takes its toll. On team cohesiveness, mental health, and on integrating new hires. You know this well, and are probably looking for ways to solve this problem.

You’ve probably considered taking your team offsite but aren’t sure what to do or where to go. Or you may be too swamped with work to plan a Covid-safe gathering.

You’re not alone in this. The good news is that there are effective solutions at your fingertips. For example, you can leverage what SF Python meetup has built for the Python developer community — an OUTDOOR Python conference at a fun food truck park in San Francisco for vaccinated & masked devs on Saturday, Oct 9.

Use the PyBay conference as an excuse to take your team offsite. Let them know you care about their well-being and professional development with great talks, yummy food, fresh air, and vitamin D.

In just a few clicks, your team will be on their way to a fun get-away they’ll be talking about the rest of the year. If you’re sending 4 or more people, you’ll get 15% OFF. That’s just $748 for 4 developers!

If you’re an individual contributor reading this, forward this email to your manager and tell them this sounds like a great team offsite idea and you’d love to catch some of the talks on pybay.com/program

Here’s the scoop

PyBay2021 Food Truck Edition is the 6th annual regional Python conference in the San Francisco Bay Area. It is the largest community-run gathering of Python developers on the West Coast. The conference chair has pivoted the event outdoors in response to the high demand for safe in-person gatherings.

By getting a few tickets to PyBay for your team members, you’ll be gifting your team a sense of normalcy with an offsite that is COVID-SAFE and helping build team morale and increase your team’s skill set.

Note that we’re asking everyone to wear a mask because of considerations for developers that have kids and elderly at home who are more vulnerable or cannot get vaccinated. Also, 89% of the developers surveyed say they’d be cool with wearing a mask for this event.

If COVID or air-quality get out of control, we will postpone the conference to early April.

What the day will look like

On Saturday Oct 9 at 11:00am, the PyBay2021 conference in SF will start with vaccinated devs gathering for lunch because we know you haven’t seen much of each other in 3D for over a year. Then put your mask on and break off into bungalows and cabanas to enjoy in-depth technical talks from in-person core Python devs and industry practitioners alike. See the program for more details.

If there are talks that don’t interest your team, they can take the opportunity to talk to Guido or Michael Kennedy in-person, create your own team activities or book a tee-time at the adjacent miniature golf course (mask optional there). Have musicians on your team? We’d be happy to have a live band at breaks, all the way until the food truck park closes at 9pm.

PyBay2021 Food Truck Edition is going to be a day your team will remember and talk about for a LONG time!

How to get team tickets

We’re limiting capacity to half of PyBay’s normal size so you need to act ASAP to get tickets.

  • Pay for everyone’s ticket in one go; you’ll just need everyone’s email addresses. Each team member will get their own link to register. When you take 4 or more members out, you’ll get $15% OFF. That’s just $748 for 4 developers! I think you’ll agree that’s a good deal.
  • Ask your team to purchase their own tickets and then reimburse them.
