With Theresa May triggering Article 50 this time last week, Brexit Day finally came to pass and Britain is now truly on her way. Yet, since the vote in June, the British people, and for that matter the UK government too, are still not much clearer on what comes next.

The recent admission by the UK gov that two years will not be enough time to agree a UK- EU Free Trade Agreement has raised serious concerns over the UK’s future economic stability. The subsequent exposure by the Commons Committee on Exiting the EU of the government’s lack of contingency plans in the event that no deal is agreed has everyone scratching their heads as to what exactly the government has been up to.

EU citizens remain still unsure of their status post Brexit, and it appears that EU freedom of movement will continue even after the UK has left.

The constitutional obstacles in the shape of Northern Ireland and Scotland persist, proof that if you really do ignore your problems, they just don’t go away (and in Scotland’s case, they get a fair bit worse). Gibraltar has popped its head up, annoyed that it wasn’t included in the Article 50 notification, and now a war with Spain is apparently more likely than the FTA being agreed.

And still uncertainty remains over two of the most pressing concerns going into the EU referendum, will Britain return to imperial measurements and will the blue passport make a comeback?

With all of this ongoing, you would be forgiven for not knowing which way is up, never mind which way is Brexit. In order to lend a helping hand, Pynx has chosen five of the best Brexit podcasts to see you on your way.

Brexit: A Guide for the Perplexed

Perhaps the best place to start would be with BBC Radio 4’s series of podcasts that looks to answer the questions on everyone’s lips. What might the divorce between the UK and EU cost, what will happen to the EU subsidies, does Scotland have a hope of changing their destiny and what will Trump mean for Brexit? A series of 10, this guide is a great introduction to the issues facing the UK during the Brexit process. Listen here.

Brexit Podcast

Does what it says on the tin. This podcast offers a vast vault of episodes, this week’s being the 56th, covering cultural, legal and economic issues. Bringing in ‘straight-talking experts’, this podcast features some high profile figures including Gina Miller, whose legal challenge over Art 50 forced a vote on parliament, Ian Dunt, author of Brexit: What the Hell Happens Now?, and Alex De Ruyter, director of research at Birmingham City Business school and founder of the Centre of Brexit Studies. Listen here.

Chopper’s Brexit Podcast

Recorded in the historic Red Lion Pub in the heart of Westminster, Christopher ‘Chopper’ Hope, Chief Political Correspondent for The Daily Telegraph, pits senior politicians and experts from opposing Brexit divide against each other. While only five episodes in, these substantive programmes offer much food for thought. For a particularly bruising encounter between Arron Banks and Roland Rudd, listen into episode four. For those listeners north of the border, episode three’s discussion on Scexit might prove interesting. Listen here.

The Guardian’s Brexit Means…

The Guardian’s podcast promises to explore the nitty gritty of Brexit, attempting to make some sense of it all. This ongoing series will hear from a variety of experts, campaigners, lawyers, businesspeople on what Brexit may offer, and how it might fail. Offers some great analysis of Article 50 pre and post. Listen here.

Iain Dale’s Brexit Briefing

Iain Dale, former Tory politician, now spends his time on LBC radio. His thirty minute weekly show looks at the developing story of Britain’s Brexit plans. Kicking off the series with a lively debate between Michael Gove and Alastair Campbell, the Brexit Briefing features appearances from Helena Kennedy, Nigel Farage and Lord Ashcroft, Jacob Rees-Mogg and AC Grayling. Last week’s episode sees Iain Dale hosting Dominic Raab and Jeremony Browne as they discuss Art. 50. Listen here.
