As you might have read in previous posts, one of the key elements of Q is its governance. Based on the Q Constitution, the rules that govern Q are transparent, enforceable, and therefore reliable. We believe Universal Governance is the missing piece in many blockchain projects today.

However, while one can approach governance from different angles, it never is a once-and-done event, but a continuous process. Like every country, company or crypto-protocol, Q needs to be able to adapt to a changing environment. By using the governance mechanisms implemented in Q, members of the Q community (like you) can have an impact on Q.

The Q Governance is open for every Q token holder to participate in, but we know that staying up to date on every issue can be quite a challenge. That’s why we have created the Q Notification Service which is available on Telegram for both Q Mainnet and Q Testnet. You can subscribe to a feed of newly created governance proposals, set up an alert for proposals regarding your own address, or pull statistics on ongoing governance votes.

GET STARTED

To use the Q notification bot, just search for “Q Notifications”, or its handle @notifications_q_bot on Telegram, select it and press “START”.

select it…
… and press “START”.

NOTIFICATION MENU

After connecting to the notification service, the main menu will show up. From here you can check in on ongoing proposals, manage your proposal subscriptions, and change your monitored addresses. Each Button will redirect you to its respective sub-menu where you can specify which area of governance you are interested in, be it Root Node-; Slashing- or Expert-Proposals or changes to the Q Constitution.

NEXT STEPS

That’s it! If you haven’t already done so, connect to the Notification Service and stay up to date on the latest governance votes on Q. You can also just browse through and vote on the proposals in the Governance section on hq.q.org, or read the whitepaper if you want to learn more about Q’s governance approach.
