I’m Super Into a Trans Girl
So I wrote a poem about her
(trans)Girl Crush
I like
the feeling of your lips
pressing softly
to each of my fingertips.
Silvery giggles and cheeks
flushed a deep red
— freshly feminine (sweetly,
deeply unjaded).
I like
having arms anchored
‘round pillowy
curves — newly nurtured.
Spellbound by rounded nails
pink, white, and blue twirling
through tumbled hair
(gently showing pride).
Together, tender whispers
woven between dimple-covered kisses.
There
I make shelter in your eyes.
Author’s Comments
It is incredibly challenging to imagine oneself as desirable when the world is filled with stories that don’t include people like you. This poem was written in deep appreciation for trans bodies — and especially trans women’s bodies — no matter where they sit on the varied tapestry of transition.
