Singapore, known for its global innovation hub and all things tech, held the world’s largest fintech festival last week from November 12th to 16th at the Singapore Expo. A third edition of the conference, this year’s Singapore Fintech Festival had gathered over 250 speakers, 450 exhibitors, 16 international pavilions and nearly 40,000 participants from 100 different countries to network and discuss the latest developments and opportunities in fintech.

QARA’s Global CEO Katie Bomi Son and Senior Financial Analyst Jinkyu Eden Kim attended this multi-day fintech event and got the chance to connect with investors, regulators, tech leaders and experts, and potential business partners from financial institutions, regulatory agencies, venture capital (VC) firms, and fintech companies. A conference of this massive scale, QARA found its place amongst other global exhibitors looking to fast-track their business growth in Singapore.

Meeting with Gartner

The day before the first day of the conference, QARA visited the Gartner office in Singapore to discuss the general overview of the Singaporean market conditions as well as provide some insights about our future expansions in Asia. Through research and data, they offered advice on how we can better reach the Singaporean audience and pitch to investors and VC firms who are actively looking to partner with startups expanding to the Asian market.

Exhibition

Through the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), QARA hosted one booth with the other Korean fintech startups at the Expo. With backed insights from Gartner, Katie and Eden took turns communicating QARA’s vision and introduced KOSHO as the leading AI deep learning advisor for investors. Several people, including many financial firms, have shown interest in implementing QARA’s system into their platforms. In particular, they took special attention to our deep learning algorithm and often mentioned how unique the tech was. Beyond technology, QARA also met with numerous accelerator programs, HR firms, and media companies to discuss in detail about our global strategy, business model, and future plans.

Open Mic

On the last day of the conference, Eden went on stage at the Korean Pavilion and introduced QARA and KOSHO to investors, journalists, and consumers at the open mic session for three minutes. The pitch received positive feedback and several people came up and asked questions about our business model and future strategy regarding KOSHO.

With each exhibition, team QARA is gaining confidence in speaking on stage and becoming more skilled at communicating the company’s vision and business model more clearly.
