Hosted by the Financial Services Commission (FSC) and Financial Supervisory Service (FSS), QARA attended its first ever Korea Fintech Week 2019 at Seoul Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) from May 23rd — 25th.

QARA was among a list of star fintech startups to participate in the exhibition. Several companies in the financial industry attended the event, including big-named firms like KEB Hana, Shinhan, and Nonghyup, to popular fintech startups like Bank Salad, Kakao Pay, and Samsung Pay.

Included in the audience are entrepreneurs from different countries, representatives from the National Assembly of Korea, financial authorities from international organizations, and venture capitalists from major financial corporations. Furthermore, general public as well as students interested in pursuing a career in fintech also participated in the exhibition.

The event was split into three separate days: Business Day, Youth Day, and Family Day.

Business Day

On the first day, QARA met with several investors and venture capitalists who showed interest in knowing more about our business. They asked questions about our technology and about our business model. But more importantly, they were curious about QARA’s future strategy and its vision for global expansion. QARA’s CEO Luke Changhwan Byun was also interviewed and aired live by SENtv (Seoul Economic Network). You can check the video here.

Youth Day

While the first day was dedicated to business professionals, this day was meant for students or young entrepreneurs who wish to start their own business. QARA’s team members acted as mentors to whomever approached our booth. Not only did we share our business model, but we also discussed the ins-and-outs of working at a startup. Thankfully, students showed genuine interest and asked lots of productive questions.

Family Day

The exhibition was open to the general public on the last day. This meant families, children, and anyone interested in the fintech industry could come and join. The event was held on a Saturday so the atmosphere was much more laid back. And what’s special about this day was that we were able to talk face-to-face with our regular consumers and get exclusive insights about our products KOSHO & Whatisfund.
