Hello, I’m Walaa Alsahin, Head of Call Centre Operations at QIC digital hub. Over the past 2 years, I’ve had the privilege of building this department from the ground up.

One of the key factors that has helped me navigate this challenging journey is the wisdom I’ve gleaned from several impactful books. Here are three that stand out for their invaluable insights into leadership, business success, and personal motivation.

1. “My Story” by Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum

This autobiography offers a compelling look at the vision and determination behind Dubai’s transformation from a modest trading port to a bustling international metropolis. Sheikh Mohammad’s narrative provides profound insights into the leadership and foresight that fueled the UAE’s rapid development. His stories of ambition and resilience serve as a powerful source of inspiration for anyone looking to lead and innovate.

2. “Good to Great” by Jim Collins

In this seminal work, Jim Collins explores what differentiates truly great companies from merely good ones. Through meticulous research and analysis, Collins identifies the key factors that drive sustained business success. This book has provided me with strategic insights and practical approaches that have been instrumental in guiding our department toward excellence.

3. “Drive” by Daniel H. Pink

Daniel H. Pink’s “Drive” delves into the science of motivation, uncovering the intrinsic factors that propel individuals to achieve their best. Pink’s exploration of autonomy, mastery, and purpose has not only helped me understand what drives my team but has also fostered a more motivating and fulfilling work environment. His insights have been crucial in developing a culture of self-improvement and engagement within our call centre.

These three books have each contributed uniquely to my professional growth, offering diverse perspectives and strategies that have been essential in my journey. I highly recommend them to anyone seeking to enhance their leadership skills, achieve business success, and find deeper motivation in their work.
