Hey Qleekers around the world. We’re back after a short summer break. We hope you are enjoying the last days of sunshine before we welcome fall. The theme of this week’s post is beauty in motion.

STROBES | DANCE | SCULPTURES

The new Fortnight Hour playlist is perfect for the last barbecues and picnics of the season. It will put your body in motion with beautiful tunes from South Africa, a selection of dance mixes, some folk and hip-hop. If you haven’t already stumbled upon it, a friend from Boston launched Slow Dance, a Kickstarter for his mesmerizing frame that displays organic objects like plants and feathers in slowmotion. We think you’ll love it. We’ve also fallen in love with the work of Mario Dilitz and his delicately carved wooden sculptures.

What is Qleek ?

« I think of Qleek as a better way to play my music at home. It combines the convenience of Spotify with the simplicity of the record. […] I just put a Qleek on and discover new music or play my own playlists without all the hassle of using my iPhone.»

— Charlotte, a Qleek user

The Qleek starter pack is now $199 instead of $299. We’ve been working on making Qleek more affordable to our fans. If you were thinking about getting one for you or for your friends or family, now is the time.

It is a great gift for those of you who want to keep wedding, party or graduation playlists as a souvenir and keep the memories alive.

Because Qleek is so simple to use, Qleek users often make playlists for their kids. So we’ve decided to work with designers and illustrators to create cute designs that are dedicated to children’s music. This series for instance is the wonderful work of Désirée Kind from Cologne.

Kids love music, but leaving them alone with an iPad or a phone online is not always suitable. Qleek allows them to play the music they love just like grown ups. Whenever they want and even on their own, while you are keeping an eye on their online experience.

This Qleek cover hides a love story. A Qleek user had chosen this cover because it represents the bar where he and his girlfriend first met in Hong Kong. The music and the atmosphere of “Sai Ying Pun” had become a symbol of the beginning of their relationship.

The place was a former ping pong competition club that was transformed into the coolest underground club in Hong Kong. With Qleek they now have a Spotify playlist with the musical history and future of their love story. A playlist that is not hidden somewhere in the cloud. But is in their living room where they can see it everyday.
