Submit Cover Art for the Future of the Record
Hello readers. The Qleek team is still working hard building the perfect medium for online streaming. A medium that’s both convenient, beautiful and personal. A physical object that you want to play, share and collect. A way for people to give mix-tapes and songs as a gift again. To build a collection that reflects who they are and the music they love.
For those of you who are not familiar with Qleeks, they are wooden shortcuts to online playlists. Qleeks are seamlessly synced with your favorite streaming services so you can play your latest Workout, Beatles or Deep Focus playlists with a simple gesture.
Because artwork is integral to the emotional value people associate with their music experience, each Qleek has a cover that is UV printed straight on the wood grain and that makes it unique. The cover usually represents the content of the Qleek but can also be an art piece by itself. It is the familiar face that will trigger the memories and desire to play a particular mix or soundtrack.
Today, Qleek is announcing a call for visual artists and designers to submit their covers and get a chance to be one of their featured artists on the Qleek cover Gallery.
The Qleek cover Gallery will feature contemporary original artwork from emerging and established international artists. The Qleek team will work closely with the selected artists to craft covers that fit Qleek’s design aesthetics but also showcase the artist and his work using the company’s own network and the wooden hexagonal canvas that is a Qleek.
The call accepts submissions from painters, illustrators, graphic designers, calligraphists and photographers. Experimental and mixed techniques are welcome. And there is no limit to the number of covers that an artist can submit.
Selected artists will have their own portfolio on the Qleek website and will be promoted via email, online press releases and social media marketing. The 5 best submissions will also receive a limited edition cherry wood player and a set of custom printed Qleeks. All selected submissions will receive their artwork printed on Qleeks.
