This is the second edition of the Qleek biweekly, a newsletter that curates the best of Music, Design and Art. Before we cut through the chase, the team wants to share their favorite playlist, object and blog post.

Here this week’s pick:

What’s Qleek?

Qleeks are wooden shortcuts to your favorite playlists. They are seamlessly synced with Spotify or Soundcloud so you can play your meditation, dinner or wake-up playlists with a simple gesture. Without even opening an app on your phone or computer.

Qleek recently launched a call for submissions for visual artists and designers to submit their artwork and get a chance to win a Qleek player and be one of the featured artists in the Qleek cover Gallery.

The team will work closely with the selected artists to craft covers that fit Qleek’s design aesthetics but also showcase the artist and his work using the company’s own network and the wooden hexagonal canvas that is a Qleek.

Selected artists will have their own portfolio on the Qleek website and will be promoted via email, online press releases and social media marketing. The 5 best submissions will also receive a limited edition cherry wood player and a set of custom printed Qleeks. All selected submissions will receive their artwork printed on Qleeks.

This week’s winner of the best looking Qleek is from sunny Los Angeles and has taken time and care choosing this beautiful colorful cover.

This Qleek links to a deep focus playlist that includes gems like Nils Frahm, Tycho and King Creosote. With its abstract cover it can also be easily updated to link to another content if wanted.

A brilliant idea from a Bostonian Qleeker was to create a Qleek for the Boston Calling Festival to get in the mood and learn the lyrics before attending. Then to keep a souvenir of the good times once the party’s over.

Part of the Qleek team was lucky enough to attend the festival and enjoy the amazing lineup: Sia, Sufjan Stevens, Janelle Monáe, Christine and the Queens, Courtney Barnett, Odesza and more.

We’ve got to admit that we couldn’t resist to copy the idea and make our own ;) It’s festival season, so make yours at Qleek.me
