Singapore is positioning itself as Asia’s leading data hub, with an annual 1 billion contribution to the country’s economy coming solely from the big data industry.

Our CEO Mike Davie was invited by The Edge Singapore, a leading business newspaper, to comment about Singapore’s Smart Nation project.

“When you start collecting data, you get an idea of how the city operates and take away some of the pain points of the citizens. Then you can think of how to address them,” Mike said in the interview.

Based here in Singapore, Quadrant Protocol is committed to working over the next few years with the government, such as in the landmark partnership with the Infocomm Media Development Authority to build a data source platform for companies.

Whether it is improving garbage collection or traffic light operations, Quadrant supports cities in developing data solutions aimed at improving living standards through its focus in areas such as location identity and IoT.

“Any data initiative needs a buy-in from citizens. They need to understand the outcomes that can be. It has to be about how the data can improve my life. That is lacking right now.” Mike told the EDGE.

Quadrant Protocol, a blueprint for mapping data, is excited to utilizing this partnership with government to design frameworks and products to help with the goal of transforming Singapore into a “smart nation”.
