Development and Community Update August 2018
Welcome to Quadrant’s August 2018 Development and Community Update! August was a month dedicated to building relationships and identifying opportunities in the Middle Kingdom. Given its size and growth, China is one of the most active and dynamic markets for Big Data. We had a very busy month — with new demo releases on the Protocol and new team members joining our project among its highlights.
Quadrant Launches Elon Demo:
Our Quadrant Elon demo was presented live at Smart China Expo, giving top big data experts the change to experiment and test it out. The functionality it unveils allows Elons to verify data even before they run their algorithms.

Smart China Expo- the meeting point of tech leaders
Global technology heavyweights — including Alibaba, Tencent, Baidu and Qualcomm — landed in southwest China to attend the first Smart China Expo in Chongqing as reported in the Economic Times. The expo featured products, technologies and modes in the global development of Big Data and Artificial Intelligence industries. Quadrant exhibited and presented during to a delegation organized by Infocomm Media Development Authority.
We had the chance to network with Chinese enterprises and authorities and the opportunity to interact and showcase our products to a leading tech crowd. Our CEO Mike Davie was also invited to present to local business leaders in a session arranged for the Chongqing Connectivity Initiative Bureau.

As we’ve mentioned previously, the most important thing in building a strong ecosystem is to continuously incorporate the feedback of our community. Quadrant’s users and token holders come represent diverse professional backgrounds, and their expertise and ideas are important as we grow Quadrant’s ecosystem. To that end, on August 16th we hosted a live AMA in our Telegram channel with Mike to directly address the questions of our community.
We would like to extend a particular thank-you to our friends Debby, Sherman & Daniel from Hong Kong, who stayed until late to attend our live AMA.
Here are few of the highlights:
Q: Is China going to be integral to the growth of the technology?
Quadrant Protocol will help AI and Machine Learning companies get access to authentic data and be able to map the data supply chain. This ensure models run correctly and are not hampered or interfered with. China is one of the leading countries developing around AI and Machine Learning. We see our fit here and will develop our partnerships to help expand the use of Quadrant in China
Q:“How is the bear market affecting the company?”/ “ Given market conditions, how does this affect the timeline you have put out in the whitepaper?”
The main issue here is unlocking the token. The overwhelming response of the community has been to keep the token locked during this period of market uncertainty. We listened and here we are. So now, our focus continues to be on building technology and finalizing partnerships, while continuing to drive user adoption and building the company. The biggest thing is that the Mainnet is linked to the unlocking of the token. We can’t release the Mainnet until the token is unlocked. Having said that, our TestNet is live and if companies and partners want to start working with us, please reach out and we can get you on-boarded.
Q: “What are future plans for Quadrant?”
Build a top-notch product and company. We will continue to roll out the tech, build out the partners and bring on the user base. We will be releasing the Elon Program later this year. So stay tuned for that.
The AMA concluded with a statement from Mike worth sharing: Just want to thank the community for their ongoing support. The bear market has made many people less-than-excited about crypto these days, but ultimately, those projects that actually solve real-world problems will be successful. Quadrant is a real company, solving real problems. We have been around, are here now and will be here in the future.

Fresh Ideas- New People
This month was chock full of new hires! We have expanded our development team, and hired a new partnerships manager. We have updated our website to reflect these additions to the team with bios and photos. We’re excited to have them on board.
Quadrant Community Design Contest — Quadrant Shirt
We are happy to announce our latest community competition. This competition is well suited for those with a great eye for design.
The winner will receive community awareness and be sent the design in various merchandise with their winning design!
Everybody that takes part in the competition will receive one free T-shirt with the winning design.
Due to limitations on printing, please strictly adhere to these rules:
Shirt Color — black
Design Colors — 1–3 solid colors maximum
Size — design must fit in a 10” x 16” area
