Team Rating — 5.67

Man of the Match — Marco Ureña

Overacheiver of the Match* — Ureña

Underperformer of the Match* — Andres Imperiale

*Relative to season averages

Player Ratings:

Tarbell — 5.4

Not given a ton to do, he did make two nice saves, and two questionable decisions: a ball was allowed to hit the ground in the six-yard box, and he tried to come for the punch at the top of the 18.

Sarkodie — 5.3

Safe with the ball, and solid in defense.

Alashe — 5.1

Not great with distribution, and had a few problems (along with Imperiale) tracking runners from the midfield. However, he did not allow Zardes to collect and distribute as the lone striker.

Imperiale — 4.7

Mistake prone, including a very bad giveaway that Jonathon Dos Santos turned around and smashed off the crossbar.

Salinas — 5.7

After a few early miscues, he settled in defensively, and his corners were good all day.

Thompson — 5.8

Perhaps most effective on the defensive side of the ball, as he covered a lot of ground and challenged for the ball tenaciously. He tried to drive the ball forward when he could as well.

Ceren — 6.1

Played like he had something to prove. Denied space to Giovanni Dos Santos, broke up attacks, and alternated between the safe pass and switching fields effectively. However, he was lucky not conceded a (soft) penalty, having the call overturned by VAR.

Yueill — 5.7

For the most part, he was chasing the game and took a back seat to Ceren. However, his dink over the top to Ureña was perfect, and he collected the assist.

Vako — 5.6

Fairly poor overall, as he was anonymous for long stretches and was a bit too greedy at times. But he took his chance when it came for the opening goal.

Wondolowski — 6.0

Did not play well overall, and spent far too much time being a defensive midfielder. But as he so often does, he ended up with a goal anyway.

Ureña — 7.0, MOTM

Terribly missed a one-on-one with the keeper early on, but he did not let it affect him. His speed caused lots of problems for the LA back line, his hold-up play was generally good, and he finished deftly when he got another chance.

Substitutes:

Hoesen — 5.6

Yes, he was playing against 10 men, and often against Gyassi Zardes as something of a right back. But he seemed to be causing danger every other minute at times.

Hyka — 5.1

Not ineffective, but should have done better at times.

Amarikwa — 5.3

Not much time to contribute, but got the assist as his shot came back off the keeper and Wondo cleaned up.
